New printing technology for Markoprint control systems

With the different controllers of the Markoprint product range, Bluhm is the only manufacturer worldwide able to control three printing technologies from its central units. Apart from the HEWLETT PACKARD printheads for small high resolution coding and the proven TRIDENT printheads for large coding, the newly developed FUNAI industrial printheads are also supported now.

And not without reason, for this printing technology has many advantages: The Funai printheads use the same principle as the well known Hewlett Packard ink cartridges. The thermal inkjet technology used here is maintenance-free and non-wearing and enables high resolution marking on absorbent and non-porous surfaces at up to 900 x 600 dpi. And all this with variable printing heights of 12.5 to 100 mm, depending on the control system and number of connected printheads.

With the innovative Dual Channel principle where two rows of nozzles are controlled alternately, printing speeds of 240 m/min are achievable at 300 dpi. The intelligent Funai cartridge controls the ink fill level, memorizes it and alerts in good time if the ink volume in the cartridge runs low. This assures constantly optimal printing results. Each cartridge knows its ink type. The user can “marry” text printing with the specific ink type. In this context, use of the correct cartridge may be pointed out.

The Funai printheads can mark products at distances of up to 10 mm, rendering them ideal for marking not only flat, but also arched product and packaging surfaces. Any tolerances in the conveying and equipment systems are compensated, assuring consistently very good printing results.

The “Markoprint iDESIGN” software included in the scope of delivery renders control and design of layouts simple and clear.
