[Interview] What is special about inkjet printer integra PP RAZR?

Inkjet printer integra PP RAZR is our latest innovation within the Markoprint product range, made in Germany. We spoke to head of development, Rüdiger Krambeer, about the outstanding benefits this new system offers for our clients’ manufacturing and logistics lines!

What are some key facts about integra PP RAZR?

Rüdiger Krambeer: ‘Integra PP RAZR combines a print height of 34 mm with the ability to mark on coated surfaces. This makes it suitable for printing on trays but also on continuous material such as plastic film or plastic bags.’

What is the unique selling point of integra PP RAZR within the Weber portfolio?

integra pp razr

Rüdiger Krambeer: ‘The print height of 34 mm closes the gap between thermal inkjet systems that use inks with HP or Funai technology, which achieve a print height of 12.5 mm, and piezo systems such as integra PP 108 with a print height of 108 mm.

Integra PP RAZR also has a cartridge system with 250 ml ink volume that can be easily replaced. Thus, it contains more ink than conventional cartridges and we do not need a central ink supply.’

What makes the ‘RAZR 1’ ink a particularly interesting feature?

Rüdiger Krambeer: ‘We developed the solvent-based ink RAZR 1 specifically for this printing technology. It adheres not only to absorbent surfaces but also very well to non-absorbent surfaces. it is a serious alternative to expensive labels.’

What do customers like most about integra PP RAZR?

Rüdiger Krambeer: ‘Our customers have been enthusiastic about the process reliability. It is crucial that the print information is readable at any time during all logistics processes. Integra PP RAZR provides built-in redundancy. It has two separate nozzle channels that can be controlled independently of each other. That means if one nozzle fails, the other channel ensures that the print quality remains steady. In addition, we have included an intermediate tank that allows you to continue printing during cartridge changes. No need to stop the production line!

How fast does integra PP RAZR print?

Rüdiger Krambeer: Integra PP RAZR prints clear text information, codes and graphics in high resolution with a print quality of up to 600 dpi. At 300 dpi, it achieves print speeds of up to 150m/min – that’s far above average!

Thank you for the interview, Rüdiger Krambeer!
