Film surfaces are often marked in the form of film packaging. As plastic films, composite and monofilms or laser films, they are highly versatile and are used in a range of industries. They protect food, sensitive electronic components, bulky building materials and entire pallets from dust, dirt and damage. Our marking systems reliably label and code flexible plastic packaging such as bags and pouches, tubular and barrier films, film labels, shrink and stretch films for pallets, sealing films and air bubble films. Labels adhere particularly well to films and are suitable for products, packaging and pallets. Our inkjet printers also achieve high-quality results, applying variable texts without contact.
Weber Marking Systems is a leading full-service provider of industrial marking technologies. With a focus on innovation, quality and sustainability, we develop cutting-edge labeling and coding systems that meet the requirements of our customers in every industry sector. Our international sales network guarantees excellent world-wide support and service. No matter what challenges your application presents: We have the necessary experience to work with you to find the optimum solution.
Plastic films (PE films) are made of very thin plastic and are a common packaging material. They are used as primary and secondary packaging in the form of film bags, plastic bags and sacks. Film is also used to wrap pallets for transport. Films protect products and packaging from external influences during transport and storage. They keep dirt, germs, UV light and moisture out.
Plastic films are often made of polyolefins such as high-density (HDPE) and low-density (LDPE) polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP). Depending on their composition, they differ in terms of their elasticity, tear resistance, material thickness, impermeability, elasticity and transparency.
PE films are highly suitable for labeling with ink, laser and labels. They can also be used to present the contents attractively, are easy to portion and can be stored in a space-saving manner. That is why they are not only very popular in the food industry. Films are also used for packaging in the construction and automotive industries and in all other areas of industry.
Film types for different applications
Depending on the application and property, a distinction is typically made between:
Types of film according to production process
Blown film gets its name from the way it is made. It is a film made of thermoplastic materials that are manufactured using a blown film extrusion line. Blown films are mostly made of polyethylene.
