The EU tire label: a must-know for tire manufacturers
Since November 1st, 2012, all tires for cars and trucks require tire labels. This is what the EU Regulation (EC) No 1222/2009 on the labeling of tires stipulates.
The label tells the consumer how high the individual fuel efficiency is. The EU label also shows the tyre's wet grip and rolling noise levels. The efficiency of the tires is rated on a scale from A to G - similar to the energy labels on refrigerators and washing machines.
