Acid-resistant labels (also known as solvent or chemical resistant labels) are a special type of label that offer resistance to harsh chemicals such as acetone or bleach.
Acid-resistant labels provide resistance against a wide range of chemicals or solvents. These include:
Acid-resistant labels offer many advantages, including the following:
Acid-resistant labels are applied to products used in harsh environments or that are frequently in contact with aggressive chemicals or solvents. This includes:
Since they are intended to resist aggressive chemicals and solvents, acid-resistant labels cannot be manufactured the same way as a traditional label would be.
When manufacturing an acid-resistant label, special attention should be paid to the label adhesive and material. In particular, the label adhesive must guarantee that the label is not peeled off when in contact with an aggressive chemical or solvent (e.g. acetone, alcohol, gasoline). The label material, on the other hand, must ensure that the information printed on the label does not vanish if a chemical or solvent runs over it. It is also important that the label material has a long lifespan so that the information contained in the label can be read even years after the label has been applied.
The process of manufacturing and applying acid-resistant labels can, in turn, be done automatically with the help of a label dispenser or a label printer and dispenser.
