What is serialisation? – A quick guide

The serialisation of medicines is a concept from the pharmaceutical industry. It is the answer to the European battle against life-threatening counterfeit medicines and their manipulation. In this blog post, we explain what serialisation is and why it is important. EU Directive 2011/62/EU states that prescription medicines must have safety features. These features must, among other things, ensure that the authenticity of the product can be verified at all times. The directive obliges the entire pharmaceutical chain to ensure the authenticity of medicines. And since everyone in the chain is involved, counterfeit medicines can be recognised immediately and withdrawn from the market quickly.

How pallet labeling works – A short guide

Weber Marking Systems’ easy-to-integrate label printer and dispensers are high-tech, advanced technological solutions designed and crafted to take part in industrial environments. Our product line ranges from identifying and marking the product itself – thus primary packaging identification – to marking or labeling the product’s packaging (e.g. boxes, case shippers in the case of pharmaceuticals, envelopes in the case of e-commerce) and last but not least, the identification and label-application on pallet.

Pallets are best known as tertiary packaging in the industrial jargon and consist of many boxes put together and wrapped in plastic film – thus palletized – for simplifying large badges transportation. However, pallets are not meant just to facilitate the transportation of goods, but aim also at guaranteeing safety and traceability. For this reason, production and the whole supply chain use pallets to track, trace and identify badges. In this article, we dive into pallet-identification and pallet-labeling, putting on the spotlight traceability and safety during shipping within different sectors, warehouses, and logistics.

Hot Tips For Cold-Temperature Labeling

Marking with labels at cold or freezing temperatures requires special label materials with selected adhesives. In a wide variety of industries, manufacturers of refrigerated products require packaging labels that are visually appealing, adhere quickly and easily, stay in place and serve their purpose for the duration of the product’s life cycle as intended.

They need labels that can withstand cold temperatures and, in particular, extreme cold, wetness, freezing and changing application conditions during the cold chain.
